Join us for a guided walk through Downtown Sioux Falls that has seen over a billion dollars of investment over the past five years.  Learn how the City collaborates on public–private partnerships behind some of the City of Sioux Falls’ most impactful developments and how you can apply these tools in your own community.

Participants will:

  • Explore financial and policy tools used to catalyze downtown investment

  • Gain practical insights for applying collaborative development strategies in their own communities


Veterans Community Project - $15 

An inspiring public–private partnership redefining how communities address veteran homelessness through innovative land use, compassionate, trauma-informed design, and coordinated wrap-around services. This session explores how tiny home communities–paired with onsite case management and integrated support creates sustainable pathways out of homelessness and how this adaptable model can be implemented in communities of all sizes, from urban centers to rural and Tribal settings.

Participants will:

  • Understand the role of land use and zoning in enabling innovative housing solutions

  • Explore equity-centered and trauma-informed design principles

  • Examine public–private partnerships and service coordination strategies that improve housing outcomes for veterans

Historic Sioux Falls: A Story of Water, Stone, and Community - $15

Step into the story of historic downtown Sioux Falls on this guided walking tour shaped by water, stone, and community vision. Discover how the Big Sioux River powered early industry, how locally quarried Sioux Quartzite defined the city’s architectural identity, and how downtown evolved from a commercial hub to the vibrant heart of the city today.
