recruitment details. We are looking for an applicant who has a Bachelor’s degree or master’s in planning, Urban Design, or related field. Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in government or private sector planning required. Mountain resort community experience preferred. A master’s degree in planning may substitute for 1.5 years of experience. AICP certification preferred.

The Planner II is responsible for processing more technical development applications including minor subdivision and major development plan reviews, code amendments, minor PUD amendments, and special review applications. This position also provides zoning support, and participation in special planning projects, such as long-range planning initiatives. Additionally, this role involves developing, coordinating, and promoting effective policies and communications related to the Avon Municipal Code for the Town’s
Planning and Zoning Commission, Town Council, and the community. A key focus of this position is
to provide elevated technical knowledge and customer service to these entities.
