Small Urban, Rural and Tribal Center on Mobility Program Manager at Eastern Washington University

The College of Business and Public Administration is currently seeking to fill a Grant Program Manager position on a full-time basis to perform administrative duties as well as research communication and outreach in support of The Small Urban, Rural, and Tribal Center on Mobility (SURTCOM) program in the Department of Planning and Public Administration. Position is available now.

The SURTCOM consortium, led by Montana State University with North Dakota State University and Eastern Washington University, focuses on mobility research for 71 western tribes in 9 states (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, and Utah) and dissemination of research findings to all tribes and their partners nationally through education, training, technical assistance and capacity building. Within the program’s nine states, the Program Manager will support all aspects of tribal transportation. Applicants must hold a bachelor of arts or masters degree in planning, public administration, tribal affairs, transportation engineering or other directly applicable degree. Additionally, they must have at least 3 years experience in planning or transportation related programs and at least 1 year experience in grants management, planning and program development. They must be able to demonstrate 1) experience and awareness of tribal government structures and programs; 2) the ability to work on a team to support and carry out tribal training, technical assistance, and outreach; 3) proficiency in one or a combination of Banner Finance, Excel, QuickBooks, or other accounting software, and; 4) ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the diverse needs, including universal access, of our students, faculty, staff, and the public.
