Community Development Director in Sheridan, WY (Deadline is Sept. 15)

The City of Sheridan is actively recruiting a collaborative, energetic, team-oriented professional with a strong planning background to serve as its next Community Development Director. This position reports to the Public Works Director and is responsible for leading and managing the operations of the Planning Division, including preparation and implementation of long range plans, development review, and code enforcement functions. The current position also is actively involved in the community’s economic development initiatives. Key responsibilities include development review and implementation of the goals and policies of the City’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan. This position is also responsible for grant writing and administration of grant provisions for community related grants. Depending on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate, the position may be responsible for the management and supervision of the City’s Building Division.

Minimum qualifications of the position include a Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field from an accredited college (Master’s degree preferred) and five years of related experience. Certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners preferred, but not required.

Salary range for this position is $78,792 - $103,556 annually with an excellent benefit package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, state pension benefits and paid time off.
