Carbon County Wyoming is accepting applications for the following position: Planner\GIS Specialist
Planner works directly with the Planning Director and prepares staff reports for presentation to the Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of County Commissioners. The Planner is primarily responsible for:
- administering the Zoning Resolution and Subdivision Regulations; and,
- responding to planning and community development questions and providing procedural direction to applicants and interested parties.
GIS Specialist is responsible for maintaining the County Zoning Map and the rural addressing program. The GIS Specialist also provides geographic information and mapping support to all County Departments as needed. Requires demonstrated competency in the use of ESRI’s ArcGIS software and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.
Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography\GIS, Planning, Environmental Resource Management, Public Administration or related field plus 2 years work experience in a related field. A Master’s Degree in any of the above fields may substitute for work experience.
Salary Range: $39,600 to $47,600 per year depending upon qualifications. 3\4 time with benefits may be possible.
