Citizens for a Better Flathead is seeking a full time Executive Director to start on or around May 1, 2017. Lead a small but dynamic organization and leadership team with a 25-year legacy of success, whose mission is to foster citizen participation and to champion sustainable solutions needed to keep the Flathead ecologically and economically healthy.
Since 1992, Citizens for a Better Flathead (CBF) has been a respected and effective leader at the forefront of addressing the challenges that rapid growth is bringing to this region. The Flathead's world-class landscapes, clean water, and friendly communities are some of its greatest economic assets, but without a clear vision for the future and daily advocacy to protect and defend these resources they will be diminished. Every day, local planning decisions are being made that shape the future of this great place. That's where our work begins.
Our niche is policy. We are the only non-profit in the Flathead working to ensure that planning and policy decisions affecting private lands at the city and county level respect the wellbeing of the whole community, the environment, and future generations. Broad and informed public participation is the bedrock of a free, democratic, and civil society -- we're champions for that too. If this sounds like a challenging and exciting leadership opportunity for you to help us grow and continue our legacy of success, we hope you will apply.
Full time, overtime exempt, with some evening and weekend events. Salary $40,000-$45,000 DOE with an employee health benefit package, paid holidays (11), vacation, and sick leave.
Applications are being handled only through the Montana State Employment office in Kalispell (427 First Avenue East, 406-758-6272, www.statecareers.mt.gov) and include an application form, a cover letter describing interest in the position, a resume, and three professional references. No phone calls or in-person visits to our office please. The position is open until filled. Interviews will begin by mid March. Learn more about us at www.flatheadcitizens.org.
