In the feature article, “Creating a Small Wind Turbine Ordinance,” Tiffany Antol, AICP, Flagstaff, Arizona, discusses the development of an ordinance in Coconino County to support the development of small wind turbines.
In the feature article, “Surviving the Tough Times and Preparing for the Good Times,” Walt Wendolowski, AICP, Lebanon, Oregon, offers good advice on “how to manage a planning office in a time of slacking demand for services, staff layoffs, and budget cuts.”
In the feature article, “Putting Boots on the Ground: Lessons on Small Town Planning from Southwest Utah Part One,” Elissa Black and Peter Stempel, both of Virgin, Utah, relate their experiences working with Form Tomorrow revising subdivision ordinances “trying to meet the needs of a growing town while maintaining the character of their town.” The conclusion of this article will appear in the September 2010 issue of The Western Planner.
In the feature article, “Field of Dreams Up for Sale,” Earl Finkler, Medford, Wisconsin, remembers visits to the baseball field in Dyersville, Iowa, made famous in the 1989 movie based on the book, Shoeless Joe, by W.P Kinsella.
