JOB TITLE: Associate Planner, Sr. Planner, Principal Planner
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Community Development
SUPERVISOR: Community Development Director or Designee
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education
and related work experience.
* Two years of professional planning or closely related experience.
* Must possess or have ability to obtain within first sixty days of employment and must maintain a
valid New Mexico Class D driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications for Associate Planner:
* Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Planning or related field.
Additional Qualifications for Sr. Planner:
* Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education
and related work experience.
* Additional two years of professional planning experience, including some experience with the
management of planning projects.
Preferred Qualifications for Sr. Planner:
* Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Planning, Landscape Architecture,
Architecture, or related field.
Additional Qualifications for Principal Planner:
* Additional one year of professional planning experience.
* One year experience in the management of complex planning projects.
* Must possess and maintain certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners.
Preferred Qualifications for Principal Planner:
* Experience working in a municipality or other public entity.
